Wine + Food + Art - Relax and Recharge | Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival | May 15, 2021

The Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival takes place annually during May, following the Coonawarra vintage. The aim is to highlight excellence through the involvement of local, national and international artists. They promote Penola’s rich literary, art and cultural heritage, and the fine wines of Coonawarra through our program.

Exhibitions, workshops, Festival flavours and performances are held in Penola, and at many of Coonawarra’s winery cellar door’s

Here at DiGiorgio you can take some time out during your busy art filled day to relax and recharge with Rita DiGiorgio's secret family recipe lamb pizziaola (slow cooked Italian lamb served with crusty bread and green salad) and a glass of DiGiorgio Family wine. 

We will also have wire artworks by a local artist David Forsyth of Ki Ki Recycled Wire-Works Gallery. Inspired to use what is discarded from a disposable, materialistic society, the recycling gurus skillfully turn barb wire, rusty farm equipment, tarnished springs, oxidized corrugated iron, aged timber, used bottle tops, broken glass, clothes line, beds, even old electrical products into extraordinary masterpieces. These will be placed around our garden for you to view.

Coonawarra Cellar Dwellers | July 1-31, 2021

During the month of July, Coonawarra wineries delve into the depths of their cellars to reveal age-old treasures, offering visitors a rare opportunity to taste and buy “back vintage”, aged wine.

Experience for yourself the superior ageing ability of Coonawarra wines as we dust off vintages that are otherwise not available for day to day tasting.

Frank's Favourites- Each week in July Frank DiGiorgio will head deep into the cellar to choose an aged wine. Call in for a taste or enjoy a glass with a 'Pick Your Own Produce Platter' that you can customise from our selection of local produce.

Aged Wine and Vintage Pies- Enjoy a delicious locally handmade pie with homemade chutney whilst enjoying a glass of wine in the cosy surrounds of our winery or around the fire pit outside. Vegetarian/GF option available. Every weekend in July, 12 noon until sold out. Bookings appreciated for larger groups.
